section is superimposed on the outline; note that these outlines run up to the sectional view but do not cross it. In the case of a longer object the revolved section can be shown detached, between the break lines as at (e). Finally, at (f) we have the removed or detached section, which in the view shown is also an enlarged section. The latter should always carry a note stating the degree of enlargement - in this case four times the scale of the main view of the object. In passing, note again the two methods of indicating the direction of view at the cutting plane shown at (c) and (f). The current preferred method is shown at (c) but either will do and I prefer (f) as being more positive - especially on assembly drawings having a number of sectional views.
