Ever wanted to draw Star Wars characters and vehicles just like the professional comic book artists? In this step-by-step series, Star Wars artists and illustrators show you how to draw some of the most beloved characters in the saga.
As one of the most annoying critters in the galaxy, the Kowakian monkey-lizard Salacious B. Crumb holds the position as the favored jester in Jabba the Hutt's court. The beak-nosed pot-bellied rascal constantly cackles and pesters anyone within earshot. In Return of the Jedi, when C-3PO temporarily became Jabba's property, Salacious teased the golden protocol droid until R2-D2 eventually put him in his place.
Star Wars illustrator Otis Frampton explains with these easy-to-follow steps on how to draw Clone Wars animated-style Salacious Crumb.
Steps 1-6 are to be drawn lightly with a pencil. No pen, no dark lines. Finished lines and details will come at the end.
Start your drawing of Jabba's little pet with two triangular shapes, one on top of the other. Then draw two curved lines going out from the larger triangle. These shapes and lines create guides for drawing Crumb's head, beak and ears. You should always start your drawings with basic shapes guidelines that you can build upon later with details.
