Clouds arc developed in the atmosphere by the prevailing winds, moisture and dust particles. Familiar cloud names are cirrus, which are high flyers; cumulus, which are middle-level clouds; and stratus, which are the low clouds. Each one of these types has other members of the same family, such as altocumulus or stratocumulus. When you go outdoors, notice the cloud shapes overhead. You'll be surprised by the variety.
