Deleting points from a panel ruler

If you want to simplify the shape of a panel, you can remove points from the ruler.

Follow these steps to delete points from a panel layer:

1. Choose the Object Selector from the Tools palette.

You don't need to select an entire panel for this function, so make sure you deselect the Select All Continuous Points on Ruler check box from the Tool Options palette, if it isn't already deselected.

2. Select the point you wish to remove from the panel ruler.

You can see two selected points on the left in Figure 7-18.

3. From the main menu, choose RulerC Delete Selected Points.

Alternatively, you can use Ctrl+Alt+D on your keyboard (3€+Option+D on the Mac).

That's all you need to do. The panel ruler adjusts to match the new number of points, which you can see on the right in Figure 7-18.
