Projected toleranced zone

Figure 20.16 shows a part section through a flange where it is required to limit the variation in perpendicularity of each hole axis. The method used is to apply a tolerance to a projected zone. The enlargement shows a possible position for the axis through one hole. Each hole axis must lie somewhere within a projected cylinder of 0 0.02 and 30 deep.
