the artist.

The artist was born in Sydney 1934. He studied art at East Sydney Technical College, worked in the Reprographic Industry for twenty years experimenting with graphics and design. He was befriended by Sir William Dobell early in his career who's friendship and encouragement was a great aid to the artist over the years and it was Sir William Dobell many years before this book came to be who urged him to put his principle of construction and design to paper. However the artist went his way in pursuit of perfecting the Air Brush,as a freehand artist's tool.It was while at this stage of his life he came to see the need for his approach to construction being documented. This became apparent while teaching selected students, owing to their lack of knowledge regarding the basic fundamentals of construction that was visibly lacking in their finished vorks. So he set about compiling this book with an approach that visually explains a simple basic construction.

FOOT NOTE:

The artist's philosophy is the same as with most teachers of art to-day and that is,without the basic understanding of the elements along with a good construction fornula,no artist can succeed.
