Easy Ways to Control Territorial Cat Spraying
The cartoon animal world extends far beyond dogs, cats, and goldfish. Family pets aren't the only animals in comic strips any animal, insect, or creature from your imagination can be the star of the show. If drawing common household pets isn't your thing, branch out into other animal cartoon characters.
The unconditional love. The hair on the couch. I've had almost every type of animal as a pet cats, dogs, horses, peacocks, skunks, chickens, mice, rabbits, cows, geese, pheasants, quail, fish, and Shetland ponies. I still live on a farm, only now the domestic animals have been replaced by plenty of wild critters foxes, raccoons, owls, deer, hawks, snakes, birds, and bunnies. Going to the dogs and cats and bunnies and other furry creatures
Cats are as varied as people, and it is fun to capture their unique qualities in your drawings. In addition to helping you create shape and texture, this demo will give you an opportunity to work on developing your proportioning skills. To sketch the legs and body in the correct proportions, first sketch a baseline. A baseline is used to establish the placement of your subject and to help work out proportions of a drawing.
The sternum is an elongated, segmented bone located on the midline of the bottom of the thorax (front of the chest). The costal cartilages of the true ribs articulate directly with it. The sternum in dogs and cats is roughly cylindrical. In the horse, it is keel-like and flattened side-to-side in its front two-thirds. The midline of the sternum, whether flat or raised into a ridge, may be subcutaneous between the pectoralis chest muscles originating on either side of the midline. The projection at the rear end of the sternum, the xiphoid process, does not affect surface form.
The tibia and the fibula make up the bones of the lower leg. The tibia is a large bone that supports the weight of the body. Its lower end forms the entire ankle bone in the horse and ox, but only the inner ankle bone in dogs, cats, pigs, and primates, where the fibula reaches the ankle on the outside. The inner surface of the entire tibia is subcutaneous. The bony prominence at its upper end, to which the patellar ligament is attached, is called the tibial tuberosity. The front edge of the upper portion of the tibia rises into a subcutaneous ridge, called the tibial crest, or shin. The full fibula is a slender bone that lies on the outside of the tibia. Its expanded upper end, the head, is an important bony landmark and does not articulate with the femur at the knee joint. Its lower end reaches all the way down to the ankle joint and forms the expanded outer ankle bone in dogs, cats, pigs, and primates. In the horse, the
The muscle drawings were drawn over the skeleton drawings, generally attaching each muscle between its origin and insertion. Reference was made to illustrations and verbal descriptions in the literature, dissected material, and study of the animal in life. Animals dissected (entirely or in part) for this project, or for research in the past, include horses, dogs, cats, rabbits, pigs, a tiger, a wildebeest, a blesbock (antelope), a giraffe, a squirrel, an orangutan, and numerous human cadavers.
As we look along the bottom of the mural, we see a horse, multiple cats, two people, and an exceedingly small monkey hanging from a tree on the viewer's left. As we move to the viewer's right, a lion and lioness are poking out from behind foliage. In back we see two roaming dinosaurs, with seagulls flying above. Beyond what each animal implies symbolically about the creators, the mural has two definitive species those of predator and prey. As the group had to problem solve and fit all these items into one purposefully very small area, the discussion mainly surrounded the dinosaurs and where to put them. The lion and lioness were largely ignored because they were not in plain view. Some of the members wanted the dinosaurs on the baseline of the paper this, however, was dismissed since they could hurt the people and domesticated animals.
A friend once wrote 'There is such evident sparkle in the eyes of intelligent people which if often missing in others, but always present to some degree. One of the things that led me to believe this is possible, was when I had the unfortunate experience of having to put one of my cats that had a fatal disease, to sleep. I can't tell you what a horrible experience this was as I loved this animal deeply. As the fatal injection was given, I actually watched the eyes go from sparkling to a dead grey. I have never gotten that image out of my mind.'
The solution is not easy, for it is a matter of feeling and interpretation. Today a girl on a magazine cover cannot just be sweet. She must be vital in every sense and doing something besides sitting in front of you and having a portrait painted. She cannot just be holding something the magazine-cover girl has already held everything from cats and dogs to letters from the boy friend. Let her swim, dive, ski through flying snow. Let her do anything, but don't let her be static.
